The Extraction Process
"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair." — 2 Corinthians 4:8
The Hydraulic Load
We beg God to release the valve. We feel the PSI climbing in our lives—the financial stress, the relational tension, the spiritual weight—and we assume something is about to burst.
In most mechanical systems, excessive pressure is a warning sign of catastrophic failure. We interpret the crushing weight in our souls the same way: as evidence that we are being destroyed.
The Purpose of Tonnage
But consider an industrial press. The tonnage isn't applied to obliterate the raw material. It is applied to extract something valuable that cannot be accessed any other way.
An olive left sitting whole on a workbench is useless. It has potential, but zero output. Without the heavy stone—without the immense, localized load—the oil remains locked inside. It remains just fruit.
Fuel Production
You feel like you are being buried under the weight. You aren't being buried. You are being pressed.
The output of this crushing season is the fuel required for your lamp. It is only under immense pressure that the "anointing" flows.
Do not despise the hydraulics. The pressure isn't the end of your operation; it is the only way to produce the fuel necessary for your light.
