The Lumen Limit

The Lumen Limit

We suffer from "high-beam anxiety." We stare into the fog of our future, trying to force our eyes to see five years down the road. We panic because the destination is hidden in the gray void. We think that because we can't see the finish line, we are lost.

But God rarely hands out maps; He hands out lanterns.

Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."

Note the range of the instrument. A lamp is not a floodlight. It doesn't illuminate the horizon or the mountaintop. It illuminates the feet. It provides a radius of visibility just large enough for the next step, not the final step.

God restricts the light on purpose. If He showed you the entire ten-year plan today, you would rely on the plan instead of the Guide. You would take the map and run ahead. By limiting the visibility to a three-foot radius, He forces you to stay in proximity to the Source.

You have enough light for tonight. Stop trying to borrow clarity from tomorrow.
